how we stack up

CUT AND SEWN IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

We are proud of our strong Pacific Northwest roots. We believe that it’s important to invest in the well-being and prosperity of our local community. To this end, we are partnered with a local manufacturing partner who ensures living wages provided for those who hand sew our garments.

We are also committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our production and manufacturing processes. Our garments are made in a zero-waste production facility, meaning that any scrap fabrics that would otherwise end up in a landfill are instead shredded and either upcycled or composted.

PRINTED WITH 100% ORGANIC INKS & DYES

In today’s textile industry, there are so many harmful chemicals that are introduced into our children’s garments without us even knowing it. In addition to our focus on creating baby clothing that is both comfy and functional, we are also committed to making sure our garments are gentle and safe on baby’s skin. Our small and family-owned US-based printing partner prints our fabric using all certified GOTS organic inks and binders so that your baby isn’t exposed to harmful pesticides or synthetic chemicals while wearing our garments.

ETHICALLY SOURCED AND MANUFACTURED

Lily & Spruce™ is a Pacific Northwest-based company proud to support our surrounding community. All of our baby clothes are ethically designed, sourced, and manufactured in the United States--from where our fabric is milled to where our final garments are cut and sewn. Every purchase of our clothing is supporting small businesses, living wages for workers and investing in our local communities.

A LIVING WAGE

When we set out to find the right manufacturers for our garments, we explored many options. What we quickly discovered was a disturbing lack of transparency in the textile industry. In many cases it simply wasn’t possible to validate whether the garments would be sewn using fair labor or be free of child labor. As a mom herself, our founder feels strongly that no benefit to the “bottom line” outweighs the need to ensure fair and living wage practices for the people who sew our garments.

To this end, we are proud to partner with a local manufacturing partner in Seattle, Washington who pays all of their employees a living wage.
