LILY & SPRUCE is committed to sustainable and ethical manufacturing processes that are good for garment workers, babies, parents, and the planet.

Our garments are produced by a small-yet-mighty team of moms, entrepreneurs, designers, and garment manufacturers who are passionate about leaving the world a better place than we found it so that it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

how we stack up

We are proud of our strong Pacific Northwest roots. We believe that it’s important to invest in the well-being and prosperity of our local community. To this end, we are partnered with a local manufacturing partner who ensures living wages provided for those who hand sew our garments.

We are also committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our production and manufacturing processes. Our garments are made in a zero-waste production facility, meaning that any scrap fabrics that would otherwise end up in a landfill are instead shredded and either upcycled or composted.

In today’s textile industry, there are so many harmful chemicals that are introduced into our children’s garments without us even knowing it. In addition to our focus on creating baby clothing that is both comfy and functional, we are also committed to making sure our garments are gentle and safe on baby’s skin. Our small and family-owned US-based printing partner prints our fabric using all certified GOTS organic inks and binders so that your baby isn’t exposed to harmful pesticides or synthetic chemicals while wearing our garments.

Lily & Spruce™ is a Pacific Northwest-based company proud to support our surrounding community. All of our baby clothes are ethically designed, sourced, and manufactured in the United States--from where our fabric is milled to where our final garments are cut and sewn. Every purchase of our clothing is supporting small businesses, living wages for workers and investing in our local communities.

When we set out to find the right manufacturers for our garments, we explored many options. What we quickly discovered was a disturbing lack of transparency in the textile industry. In many cases it simply wasn’t possible to validate whether the garments would be sewn using fair labor or be free of child labor. As a mom herself, our founder feels strongly that no benefit to the “bottom line” outweighs the need to ensure fair and living wage practices for the people who sew our garments.

To this end, we are proud to partner with a local manufacturing partner in Seattle, Washington who pays all of their employees a living wage.

Our Partners

Donating 2% of proceeds to The Imagination Library of Washington

Lily & Spruce is proud to partner with the Imagination Library of Washington, the statewide partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This partnership allows us to take action on our mission of inspiring imagination and encouraging individuality in our kids.

Why the Imagination Library?

At Lily & Spruce, we create clothes with storybook illustrations that inspire imagination, creativity, and self-expression in children without sacrificing quality, comfort, and ease. Our partnership with the Imagination Library of Washington, the statewide partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, compliments our mission by supporting the big dreams of children in our community. With every purchase of a Lily & Spruce™ garment, you are directly contributing to the donation of a book to a child, enabling them to dream big and explore a new world with every page.
